Brackets

[edit]

It's standard practice on TUF articles to not add a bracket until the semi-finals (when we can deduce an accurate bracket) are set, and for good reason:

  • adding brackets implies matchups that may not necessarily (and probably won't) occur. For instance, the bracket as-is implies Jesse vs. Tim is in the second round. Either you're posting uncitable spoilers or are using a crystal ball... or just plain misusing a bracket.
  • Any work saved will easily cost more work down the line when we have to rearrange all the names to show the proper succession of winners. If you're really worried about work being lost, well, that's why the bracket is commented out and not deleted.

And besides, we need a 32-man bracket anyway. hateless 06:23, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since we now know the semi-final matches, I have updated the tournament bracket and made it visible on the page. One thing I am unsure of is how to handle Patrick Schultz replacing Paul Bradley prior to the second round. You see Paul winning the first round/qualifier and then Patrick competing in his place on the bracket. Is the Episode 3 summary sufficient or does there need to be a comment of some sort within the bracket section? --TreyGeek (talk) 15:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disqualification

[edit]

Shouldn't what everyone's talking about right now be mentioned -- that one fighter, possibly a semi-finalists, is getting pulled from the UFC from what looks like a drunken rampage? The UFC is hyping it as "the most shocking twist in TUF history." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.103.208.72 (talk) 00:38, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find a reliable source of information feel free to add it and be sure to cite your source. So far I've only seen a lot of speculation and random guessing as to what will (has) happen(ed). Otherwise, we can just wait a couple days and we'll all know for sure and the information in the article will be accurate. TreyGeek (talk) 00:48, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
